Keeping Mess at Bay

Keeping a clean and tidy house is easier said than done, particularly if you are almost always busy or have a busy household. Here at Maid4You, we’re passionate about keeping things shipshape and as such, have put together some top tips for keeping your home in order.

Bedding

Some people like to make their bed first thing in the morning and others don’t see the point in it. However, what can’t be denied is the difference it makes to how tidy the room looks. If you’re struggling to muster up the enthusiasm to make your bed, consider just stripping the bedding back each morning and leaving the duvet folded at the end of your bed, giving your mattress a chance to breathe. Although you haven’t technically made the bed, it will look a lot tidier than crumpled sheets.

Quick Fire

It’s easy to let things pile up, but if you’re looking for an easy way to keep on top of the daily mess, aim to have a 15 minute clean up once a night. Although this won’t take much time out your evening, you may be surprised by how much you get done and will sleep soundly knowing you can come down to a tidy living space.

Things Won’t Always Look Perfect

If you’re a perfectionist, being happy with “clean enough: may be difficult. However, sometimes your daily routine dictates that there is just no time to reach those hard to reach places every week to get the dust lurking at the back.

It’s important to remember that a home is there to be lived in so don’t stress too much if things aren’t in their correct places all the time. Try making a list of jobs to be done around the house and putting them in priority order. As long as around 80% of those jobs are done, try not to let the rest play on your mind – they’re likely to be things others wouldn’t notice anyway.
